Apoorva Mallya, MBA, CFA

Program Officer for Vaccine Preventable Diseases

      Mr. Apoorva Mallya will be the guest speaker at lunch on Saturday. 

      Mr. Apoorva Mallya is a program officer with the Vaccine Preventable Diseases team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  He brings a passion for global health issues as well as strong strategic skills to bear in enhancing immunization programs throughout the world, ensuring the poorest children receive their full complement of life-saving vaccines.  Recently, he has focused his efforts on supporting polio eradication and protecting children from measles as well as utilizing novel finance mechanisms to support immunization programs.

     Mr. Mallya earned a BA in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA in Strategy and Health at Washington University in St. Louis. 

     Mr. Mallya previously worked as a Senior Consultant with ECG Management Consultants providing strategic and business consulting services for non-profit hospitals throughout the US.  Within this role, he specialized in developing financial and organizational structures to allow hospitals to serve uninsured and underinsured patients. In addition, he has served as a community health care worker in the rural areas of Maharashtra, India, focusing on populations suffering from tuberculosis and leprosy. 

     Mr. Mallya is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
